September 18
I headed to Sunset Ramblers this weekend for one of the final races of that
series. To start the day off, they held a short meeting on the passing of a
great 85cc rider, who was leading the points series in the mini junior class,
12 year old Drew Bush. Drew rode the #77 yamaha YZ 85 and was just starting out
what was going to become a successful career. Drew was liked by many people and
was a pleasure to have around at Sunset Ramblers. I personally, would like to
send my thoughts and prayers out to his family and friends. During this
meeting, they asked everyone for silence as one of Drew's closest friends, took
his bike out for one last lap around the track. The meeting had ended and it was
on to practice.
Sunset suffered alot of rain the night before, which made for a
very muddy interesting practice. I waited for the first 3 groups of practice to
go out, then myself and a few others proceeded to kind of fit ourselves into a
practice session to get some time on the track when it was dryed up a bit more.
I headed out with some of the younger kids, along with two of my friends Austin
Stout and Trae Hoffee. We went out and rode for a few laps and were pulled off
the track. The track had begun to dry up nicely so we were ok with not getting
much practice. My first moto of the day was in the Schoolboy class. I had a
great jump off of the start. and came out 3rd behind Austin Stout and Justin
Johnson, but engaged in a heavy battle with #4 Cody Minard, who eventually
slipped away and ran off with 3rd place, so I relaxed and made sure to tie up a
solid 4th place and come out next moto, and see what I could make out of it. My
next moto of the day was 125C. I got a great start taking 2nd out of the gates.
In the second turn i was pushed out wide and got passed by 2 riders, so I was in
4th to start out the race. We started the first 2 laps with a 4 way battle for
the lead. Swapping spots and throwing mud in each others faces, it was an all
out war for the win. On the third lap I came into a turn a little fast and
almost fell, so I was a bit behind going into the final lap. On the last lap, I
had one of the toughest fought battles in my 11 year racing career with #33 Kyle
Richert. We slid inside and outside of each other battling for 3rd place about 4
times before I had another minor mistake that cost me a few seconds, so I ended
up 4th. Moto 2 of the Schoolboy class was next up. Due to bike problems, Austin
Stout was unable to ride. So we started the race a man down, and I took third
from the start and finished out a 3rd place spot, for the moto and overall in
the class. For my 4th and final ride of the day, I was up against the 125C
class. I was depending an a great start for the race, and had depended a bit to
much. I got one of the worst starts ive had yet this year, and it was going to
take a very strong ride for the win. So I had to start somewhere, I believe I
was in 7th out of first turn, so I started picking kids off one at a time until
I got into 5th spot, where I ran into a bit of a problem. I had come up on a
dirty rider. After several attemps at passing him, and I kept getting slammed
into by him, I had to go for it. I went for it all and made a strong move to
the inside, and got the pass. I caught up to the 3rd place rider, and ran out
of time. I ended up 4th place overall in the class. Well, hope you enjoyed
reading my update and thanks for your time. I would like to thank My mom and
dad, Jim and Ken from Bars Racing, Oxtar Boots, and Decal/Socal mx.
Pray for the friends and family of Drew Bush #77. Rest in Peace Drew.

#300 Austin Robertson
Team BARS Racing goes to Michigan
for Friday Night Motocross.
September 9
#300 Austin Robertson had the first race of the evening in the 85-125cc junior class. With a strong start #300 Robertson was able to keep his KX85 in the 3rd position all the way the finish for Moto 1. At the drop of the gate for Moto 2 it was like watching a repeat. The #300 Robertson bike was in 3rd until the leader took a fall. This was just what he needed to take 2nd in the race and a 2nd place overall for the night.
Next for Team BARS Racing was the 85cc Intermediate class with #248 David Blevins, #213 Andrew Stiltner, and #425 Ryan Worchuck. #248 Blevins busted out of the gate to take the holeshot. The battle up front would not end until they dropped the checkered flag. #722 Mark Green of Brownstown, Michigan took the lead from Blevins who at the time was battling with his teammate #425 Worchuck. Blevins and Worchuck probably passed one another 4 times on the final lap with #248 Blevins taking the 2nd spot, #425 Worchuck in 3rd, #213 Andrew Stiltner in 5th. Moto 2 Green took the lead followed by #425 Worchuck and #248 Blevins close behind. #213 Stiltner suffered mechanical problems early and did not finish. With #722 Green checked out in first, Blevins overtook Worchuck for the second spot. Worchuck made a mistake late in the race and lost 3rd to #726 JT Foster of Clinton, MI. The overall finishing positions for Team BARS Racing: 2nd-#248 Blevins, 4th-#425 Worchuck.

5 BARS Teammates Head To Delta And Get A MUDDY Surprise.
08/13/05
The evening's practice session started out under the clouds with all the BARS riders wondering when the rain would start. Well they didn't have to wait long. The rain came down early but didn't effect the track much. #796 Adams was the first to take the track. Darting out of the gate #796 Adams put his CR80 up into mid pack. The rain was starting to come down harder and we found out Adams was a fan of the wet track. Moving up through the pack he finished a strong 3rd place.
Next up was #573 Brad Vargo on his RM125. The rain had made the track a little slippery but that didn't slow the BARS racer down. #573 Vargo held on to 4th place most of the moto and finished 5th on a very wet and tough Deta track.
The 85cc Intermediate class was stacked with talent. This included BARS racers #248 Blevins, #425 Worchuck, #13 Stiltner, and #300 Robertson. The rain had turned the track in to a muddy mess. At the gate they were standing in a good 3 inches of water. #300 Robertson waived me over because his bike had stalled and would not refire. This was his type of race and he could not get out of the gate. With a good hole shot, (from what we could see) the BARS team was looking pretty good. Coming around first was #248 Blevins on his Yamaha then #425 Worchuck and #13 Stiltner rounding out the 3rd position. Wow what a site, the track had transformed into a lake with jumps. How these guys could keep their bikes up was impressive, but turning some fast lap times was amazing. Not one BARS rider went down, that's skill. At the line it was #248 Blevins crossing in first place to take the overall. (moto 2 cancelled)
1st #248 Blevins
2nd #425 Worchuck
3rd # #13 Stiltner

#248 Blevins Welcomes #13 Stiltner
To the Intermediate Class... Delta 08/06/2005
#13 Andrew Stiltner joined Teammate #248 David Blevins on the gate for his first appearance in the intermediate class. With a holeshot that showed his ability off the gate #13 Stiltner put himself at mid pack. Continuing that pace to finish third in moto one and two. #248 Blevins set a blistering pace and took first in moto one. Teammate #425 Ryan Worchuck followed close behind #248 Blevins in in moto one taking the second spot. Moto 2 was about as exciting as it gets in motocross with #248 Blevins and #425 Worchuck going BAR to BAR for the first few laps. It kinda reminded me of Kevin Windham and Travis Pastrana in supercross when they cleared a monster double side by side. The Bars teammates glanced over at one another while flying through the air, AWESOME! #248 Blevins made one to many mistakes and #425 Worchuck put down a flawless final lap to take the overall victory.
1st #425 Worchuck
2nd #248 Blevins
3rd # #13 Stiltner

Austin Robertson takes on the competition, new competition 08/06/2005
#300 Robertson wanted a change of scenery and entered the 85-125 Junior class. The gate was lined with his class and 125 beginners, #300 the only 85cc bike. With a good start he put his KX85 up into 2nd place. #120 Gibbons was to much for the BARS racer and checked out early. #300 Robertson rode a smooth race and separated himself from the beginner class. Which led to a nice open track to finish a strong second.

January updates will include team member information and schedule for 2006.
